Delays in mail processing and delivery in Nepal due to flooding
The designated operator of Nepal, the Department of Postal Services (Nepal Post), wishes to inform that a catastrophic flood on the Bhotekoshi River in the Rasuwa district, at 8.40 (local time) on 26 August 2026, has caused major loss of life and property in the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan districts, including damage to major highways.
As a result, the processing and conveyance of all domestic and inbound and outbound international mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) in Nepal are subject to disruption, which is expected to last for several weeks. Nepal Post will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as additional information becomes available.
Nepal Post thanks all partners and customers for their understanding.
