Delays in mail processing in Italy
Italy’s designated operator, Poste Italiane, reports that due to technical problems with the service provider at Malpensa and Linate airports, there may be delays in international mail and parcels sent by air, both incoming and outgoing. The situation is under constant monitoring.
Ukrposhta’s air partners deliver dispatches (containers with postal items) to Malpensa airport, where all systems have not been restored due to a hacker attack.
Postal items are processed manually, and due to the increase in the volume of shipments during the New Year period, there is a backlog. Poste Italiane and its suppliers are doing everything possible to speed up the processing and delivery of shipments.
Poste Italiane reports that the resumption of operations may still take several weeks.
Poste Italiane thanks all partners and customers for their understanding and cooperation.
