Heavy snowfalls and snowstorms in Greece and their impact on the postal operations

The designated operator of Greece, Hellenic Post ELTA, wishes to inform that on 24.01.2022 the whole territory of Greece was hit by heavy snowfalls and snowstorms.

Sorting centers were closed down, also collection and delivery have been canceled.

The main highway connecting Athens and Salonika and many main roads in Attica region are closed.

Many flights (domestic and international) from and to Athens International Airport are cancelled.

According to the weather forecast, the situation will become even worst in the next days. These extreme weather conditions have direct affect to all operations of the designated operator of Greece.

Update of 31.01.2022: Since this weekend the situation is back to normal.
