Poste Italiane has informed about a backlog for clearance of packets and parcels due to an issue with the national customs IT system.

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, has informed about a backlog for clearance of packets and parcels due to an issue with the national customs IT system.

The backlog is also causing capacity issues in the Poste Italiane warehouse, therefore also low value items (value below 150,00 €)  are impacted, including items with IOSS number.

As Poste Italiane has implemented all necessary and timely measures with the customs administration IT services to solve the above represented issues, also by involving directly the Customs Administration senior management, it will provide regular updates on the situation and hopes that it will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Inbound products from EU countries are not affected and are being processed as per normal operations.
