Poste Italiane, has informed that, owing to technical issues
The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, has informed that, owing to technical issues, since 22 March 2025, it was not receiving electronic messages about the status of postal items.
Missing messages and events slowly started reaching its systems since Friday, 4 April; however, there are still blockages, for reasons that are yet to be determined.
Processing of items originating outside the European Union has been suspended since 4 April, to prevent the risk of Import One-Stop Shop information included in the ITMATT being lost. Processing will be restarted as soon as possible, but delays are to be expected.
On 16 April, Poste Italiane started receiving EDI messages and EMSEVT events and started processing the unavoidable backlog of dispatches from non-EU countries that built up between 22 March and 11 April 2025.
Additional weekend shifts were scheduled to clear the backlog, as follows:
• letter mail and packets – by 23 April;
• parcels and EMS items – by the end of April.
Poste Italiane thanks all partners and customers for their understanding. It will provide an update once the situation has returned to normal.
