Short Term Force Majeure from Canada Post
The designated operator of Canada, Canada Post, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that a state of emergency has been declared for the province of British Columbia, due to adverse weather conditions including flooding, rockslides and mudslides.
Many roads, rail lines and bridges have been damaged, and authorities are still assessing the damage and the work needed to reopen roads. At this time, there is no way to travel through British Columbia on land (by highway or rail), and this restriction has a serious impact on our ability to carry certain mail and parcel items into and out of the province.
This is an extension to the force majeure invoked on November 18, 2021 as the flood situation continues to affect many areas in the province of British Columbia. The provincial state of emergency remains in place.
Start date of Force Majeure: 15/12/21
End date of Force Majeure: 31/12/21
