Ukrposhta continues processing exports on a regular basis

Due to the heated political discussions of the actions of the Russian Federation, there has been news about the introduction of restrictions on passenger airline flights. On 13 February 2022, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine announced that the information about the closure of Ukraine’s airspace was not true. The closure of the airspace is a sovereign right of Ukraine, and no such decision has been made.

However, several airlines have temporarily changed their flight plans to Ukraine, in particular, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced the cancellation of flights to Kyiv.

Despite all the news, JSC “Ukrposhta”, as the designated national postal operator, continues receiving, processing and transporting export postal items to 230 countries and territories. Currently Ukrposhta has direct contracts with 15 leading airlines, including UIA, Lufthansa, AirBaltic, Turkish Airlines, LOT, KLM, Czech Airlines. Together with its partner Windrose, Ukrposhta will continue dispatching cargo charter flights to New York Airport.

If need be, Ukrposhta is ready to promptly deploy the plan of combined delivery of postal items in all necessary directions, which was tested during the first lockdown. In the spring of 2020, when, due to the pandemic, a total ban on passenger airlines was abruptly introduced, Ukrposhta quickly established road connection between Kyiv and key transit airports in Europe to be able to deliver mail to airline partners outside Ukraine.

Detailed news about changes in export delivery will be posted on the Portal for E-Export: https://e-export.ukrposhta.ua/category/novyny-posht/.

We would like to remind that in 2021 Ukrposhta processed and delivered 4.7 million kg of export postal items to countries of the world. This indicator increased by 27% compared to 2020.
